This is obviously peanuts to a fund like Blackrock, but still an interesting decision nonetheless. Brick and mortar stores have been struggling to compete against companies like Amazon as the world transitions to more online purchasing, and with the recent bankruptcy of J.C. Penny, there’s just something about this purchase that doesn’t quite seem to be adding up. We will have to wait and see how things unfold.
